8) Notes: Okay this is a short and sweet story that has no connection to the
long story "Sacrifice" that I just finished. In short it can fall anywhere
in the Joxer and Ares fandom :) Anyway, My friend, Rose is going through a
whole pile of my old stories while she is waiting for my muse to get over
it's break. In the process of doing this she found this little ditty that I
wrote four to five months back before I started working on and posting
"Sacrifice." She said that she liked it and thought it was about time I
posted it before I forgot it again. :) Which was the case with this story I
wrote. Anyway, I hope you like it and I wish you all happy reading *HUGS*
Lady Q
A Moment in the Night
By Lady Q
Joxer shivered in his sleep as he felt a cool breeze
caress his naked body. He turned over in the soft
bed and searched for the arms of his warm lover. He
frowned when his hand only touched the sheets
instead of his lover.
Joxer sat up and thought of when he last saw Ares.
It must have been around midnight, he thought,
when he left their study. Ares must still be looking
over battle plans for an upcoming battle.
So Joxer drowsily got out of their comfy bed and
went in search of his missing love. As he entered
the study, he noticed that the candle on Ares' desk
was very nearly burned out, and by its side was his
darkly beautiful, slumbering husband, with his head
pillowed on top of his arms which were lying across
the maps of the many different ongoing battles.
Joxer smiled softly down at his sleeping love and
gently brushed his hand through Ares' soft wavy hair.
"Res," he whispered against his ear. Ares mumbled
something about 'five more minutes' as he raised his
hand to swat at what was bothering him.
Joxer chuckled softly as he gently began to shake his
love awake.
Ares made some more sounds before he finally pried
open one eye to glare at the disturbance, but the glare
quickly disappeared and was replaced with a warm and
loving glow that was only ever seen by his husband.
"Joxer!" he sleepily exclaimed as he sat up and stretched
his arms. "What are you doing up? I thought you wanted
to rest before you had to go to those peace talks?"
Joxer nodded as he moved behind his love and wrapped
his arms around him. He placed a kiss on top of Ares
head as he said, "I did, but I woke up missing you in
my arms."
Joxer slowly moved his hands down Ares' chest, causing
him to moan when he brushed against his quickly hardening
nipples, "Come to bed with me, make love to me, and just
love me, forever."
Ares groaned, then brought Joxer's teasing hand up to his lips
and placed a kiss on it as he rose and swept his love into his
arms and headed to their bedroom.
"Always, my love, I will gladly do all these things for you,"
He roughly whispered against Joxer's lips. "For I will always
love you."
