Summary: Joxer keeps noticing this cloud and tells Ares all about
it.
Author's notes: This was inspired by my noticing this one cloud that
I saw and thought, "hey that's Zeus and he's watching me!" I have
obviously gone insane.

"Good morning Ares!
I hope you had a good nights sleep last night, that is if you sleep.
Do you sleep? Do God's need sleep? Well, if you do, I hope you slept
well. I sure did. I even had a great dream about fighting a bandit
and accidentally hitting Gabby on the nose!
Anyway, Gabby and Xena are still asleep so I'm going to go wash up
in the river.
Goodbye for now,
Joxer."
"Hey Ares! I just finished washing up and was nearly about to put my
shirt back on when I noticed this cloud just stop in mid air and
turn around to look at me. Which was kind of weird. After all, it's
not every day that clouds stop in mid air and look at me, but I
ignored it. I mean, what could a cloud do to me? I'm Joxer the
Mighty and I have nothing to fear from clouds!
Uh oh, I hear Xena yelling for me, so I'd better be going.
Talk to you later,
Joxer."
"Hi again Ares! I just told Xena that I think that cloud is
following me. You know? The one that I told you about earlier, the
one that stopped in mid air? Well, we've been going down a very
twisty and round about road today and that cloud is always just
right there, looking at me. Xena says that I'm being silly, that it
must be different clouds that I'm seeing, that just happen to be
around the same size or shape. But I'm telling you, it's the same
cloud! And it seems to be following me. I swear it's watching me for
some reason, almost as if it's curious about me. Can clouds be
curious?
Xena's yelling again, so I have to go. I'll let you know if the
cloud does anything else.
Talk to you soon,
Joxer."
"Um, Ares? I know this is going to sound strange, but I swear that
the cloud I told you about earlier today just glared at me! And it
wasn't as if I was doing anything wrong! I was just minding my own
business and singing my theme song, you know, my Joxer the Mighty
song. Did you know that your nephew Strife helped me to come up with
that? He did it so I could sing it while travelling with the
fearsome foursome, so they're irritated and distracted and chaos
ensues, making it so they concentrate on me instead of thwarting one
of your plans. Strife even told me that my song gives him a power
boost every time I sing it. Anyway, the version I sung today is the
one that you can sing in front of kids, not the naughty version that
Meg and her girls sing with me.
So, there I was, singing my song and the cloud started glaring at
me, so I stopped. I mean, I know that a cloud can't do anything to
hurt me, but the way it glared at me made my heart stop with fear.
I just wish I had been able to sing the song the whole way through,
because it might have been able to give Strife a power boost, even
though he's currently dead. I know you're trying to talk Hades into
letting him go, but considering how lonely he gets when Persephone
isn't around, I don't think Hades would willing let Strife go. So,
it'll be up to Strife to sneak out or trick his way out. No matter
what I hope you get your nephew back soon.
Well, the cloud has stopped glaring at me and has gone back to just
watching me, so I guess I'll go now.
Love you,
Joxer."
"Ares? You know that cloud I keep telling you about? The one that's
been following me all day? Well, I told Xena about it again, because
the more I notice it, the more it begins to look like Zeus. I even
just now pointed out to her just how much it looks like Zeus and
asked her just how many Zeus shaped clouds could there be?
She just shrugged me off though and wouldn't listen to me explain
why the cloud was beginning to worry me. See, it's just got very hot
here, right now, so I took off my armour and my shirt, to try to
keep cool and as soon as I did, the Zeus shaped cloud began leering
at me.
Or at least, I think it's leering at me. I swear it's looking at me
in that sleazy sort of way that warriors look at camp followers just
before picking them up and taking them back to their tents to have
their way with them ... um ... never mind. The cloud just took off
in a hurry toward Mount Olympus. It almost looked as if it had been
chased off or scared away.
Good thing too. Because if that Zeus shaped cloud had tried to take
me away somewhere to have it's way with me I would have had to tell
it that I'm a one God kind of guy. Even though it was a nice enough
cloud and Zeus is a pretty neat God, he isn't you and I'd much
rather be carried off by you. If you were interested that is. But
even if you don't ever carry me away, I'll always love you and
worship you, because I'm yours and you're the only God for me.
I just thought you should know.
Joxer."
Ares sighed as he listened to Joxer's latest prayer and waited as
patiently as he could for the appointed time to arrive, the time
when he would be free to claim the mortal as his own.
