Notes: I found this old joke book I've had for a couple of years - A Pis of
Cak, Children at Their Most Seriously Funny by Peter A. Jeffcock. I read it and
almost wet myself I was laughing so hard. Then I was remembering when in
Biology last year I mispronounced a word while reading out loud. Thus, this fic
was born!
Disclaimer: The Gods belong to themselves, Strife/Joxer/Bliss belong to the
peeps who made Xena/Herc, Imp/Accord belong to Scribe, and the other kids are
mine, I tell you, mine!!!!!
Note 2: Oh, and this fic and all sequels are a sorta AU from Scribe's own
little world. Sorta like a 'what if?' thing. An alternate dimension, a split in
the destiny of Scribe's series, a little track shooting off from the main path
through the forest, a fork in the crossroads of fate. Uh, you get the idea.
Warning: Humour. And quite possibly OOC. Be warned!
Summary: Strife and Cupid's youngest sons, twins Beguin and Convoi, have
something they wanna tell their family. They just learnt it from Granny Gaia, and
they wanna share it. I don't think Granny Gaia said it *exactly* that way,
though…
~~~<~~<~~@
The extended family of Love and War sat in the main hall of Cupid's temple.
Bliss sat next to Accord, arm around his bestest friend's shoulders. Imp was
sitting with her and Bliss' younger brother and sister, Recess and his twin
Amentia. Next to them sat Cupid, Strife snuggled against his side. Ares and Joxer
were in the same position, sitting by their triplets, Perire, Foedus and
Divisio. They were watching Cupid and Strife's youngest sons, twins Beguin and
Convoi, who stood before them.
The twins grinned, showing their shiny white baby teeth.
"We's learn'ded t'is f'om G'anny Gaia!" they pronounced. "We's t'ot ou'd
like to ear it, 'cuz i's so cool!"
The twins looked at each other, and began.
"Ev'ry living t'ing is an orgasm. F'om t'e smalles cell oo a 'ole mammal, we
are all orgasms!" they declared proudly, unknowing of their small, yet
hilarious, mispronunciation. They are only five, after all.
The Adults blinked, and held back their laughter, they didn't want to damage
the kids' egos, which could be very fragile at this young age.
"Th-th-tha' was w-w-wondehful!" stammered Strife, trying not to laugh. It
didn't help that he was getting a buzz from this small bit of mispronunciation
mischief.
"Yes!" agreed Bliss. "We think that it's wonderful that we're all what you
said. Granny Gaia must be so pleased to have such diligent students!"
The twins frowned. "Wha's 'dil'gent' mean, Daddy?" they asked.
"It means hard-working," Cupid replied. "And he's right. You must have
worked very hard at remembering this to tell us all."
"We's did!" cried the twins together, as usual. "We's worked very hard,
'acause we's wan'ed oo tell's y'it!"
"It was lovely," said Joxer, smiling. "And now, I think it's time for bed.
It's getting late."
There were a flurry of 'aaaaaww' and 'we's not sweepy' followed by a large
yawn, as the kids, minus Bliss, Accord and Imp, were herded to bed.
When Joxer returned, the others were laughing heartily.
"Ev-ev-every li-iving th-thing i-is an or-rgasm!" panted out Strife, causing
them to fall back into their laughter.
