Title: Olympians Reborn: School Daze series: Fall Dance
Author: Kate
Sequel: Yep. Sequel to Olympians Reborn Awakenings series
Rating: PG at least
Pairings: A/J, C/S, Hades/Persephone, Dite/Heph, Arte/Dio, Apollo/Emily, Athena/Hermes, Will/Iolaus, Gabrielle/Hercules

Persephone flashed into Aphrodite's temple with Emily so the could all get dressed for the Fall Ball together. They were the girls of Olympus; the guys were getting dressed at Ares' temple. Emily looked around the temple she'd been brought to in shock. Ever since Will had been hurt then gotten better a few weeks ago, and ever since she'd gotten over what she felt about Ares and Eris, she'd discovered that their group was more fun, free and relaxed than her old group. They accepted her with open arms when she needed friends who would help her, and she was dating Apollo. Dite, or Aphrodite as Emily had realized she was, hurried her into a shower and then began to pull he dress Hestia had made for Emily out.
"So, you guys think Joxer will get Ares to dance tonight? We know he can but he is stubborn about it," Artemis said. Emily looked up as she came out of the shower.
"Res and Joxer? How long have they been a couple?" She asked confused
"About 2,000 years give or take," Artemis replied. Ares was lonely and Joxer was feeling unloved and the rest just sort of happened." Emily nodded and looked at the long, fall gold dress in front of her. It was beautiful and, according to Dite, it was hers.
"Aunt Hestia made that for you when we saw the one in the store. She said it was your color but the cut was wrong so she made one for you. There are shoes and a wrap to go with it and Apollo will keep you warm regardless," Persephone said. She was dressed in a sheath dress that held all the colors of autumn depending on the light. It had always been her favorite of the dresses Hades had gotten for her. He was over in Ares temple too, dressing for the dance. He was her date for tonight, and forever afterwards.
Emily slipped the dress on and looked at herself in the mirror. The others were right. It brought out the gold highlights in her hair, which Aphrodite was busy putting up for her. Dite smiled as she looked over at Emily and beckoned her over to the table where the others were applying make up. Dite did hers because Emily really didn't know how to do it for this dance. Finally, when everyone was ready, the girls headed out to Ares' temple where the guys were waiting.
Emily looked at the guys as they came out. Ares as he always was now in leather pants and vest with a white shirt, Strife in black leather pants also and a red silk shirt. Cupid wore black slacks and a black silk dress shirt; Apollo wore black slacks and a gold shirt that matched Emily's dress. Dionysus wore black slacks, a dark wine red silk shirt, and a silver link belt. Her own brother, Will wore the same black pants that all the boys seemed to be wearing, but his shirt was a navy blue silk. It brought his eyes out. Asclepius was wearing black pants and a white shirt. Hades wore all black; Hephaestus wore a flame orange shirt with his black slacks. Iolaus wore a pale blue shirt with his black pants, Hermes wore a silver shirt, and Joxer was the counter to Ares in a white suit.
The group paired off into nine couples and flashed down to the woods near the high school gym. They entered as a group but also made it apparent whom they were with. The Diamonds, the ones who called themselves the most beautiful and the most popular stared in drop jawed shock when they saw the Olympians. The Olympians, for their parts, just walked to their table, set their coats down, and went onto the dance floor with their partners and danced.
The night went smoothly and pleasantly. Everyone in the group danced and laughed and had a great time. The last dance and they were all on the floor. All 18 of them.
"I'll always remember
The song they were playing
The first time we danced and I knew"
Apollo smiled at Emily gently and kissed her forehead lightly in silent promise.
"As we swayed to the music
And held to each other
I fell in love with you"
Artemis and Dionysus leaned into each other finally admitting that they had been in love since long before the rebirth. They'd danced together at one of Aphrodite's parties.
"Can I have this dance for the rest of my life
Would you be my partner every night?
When we're together it feels so right
Can I have this dance for the rest of my life?"
Iolaus danced with Will slowly swaying to the music as he felt his love for the young God of Truth coming to the fore.
"I'll always remember
That magic moment
When I held you close to me"
Asclepius held Eris against his chest for the first time realizing how he felt about her. He looked over and saw Hermes and Athena with much the same looks on their faces.
"As we moved together
I knew forever
You're all I'll ever need"
Aphrodite and Hephaestus danced together like they were born for that song, Emily thought. She saw Cupid and Strife dancing together off to the side of the dance floor.
"Can I have this dance for the rest of my life
Will you be my partner every night
When we're together it feels so right
Can I have this dance for the rest of my life"
Ares and Joxer danced together slowly lost in each other, as War and Peace are apt to get when joined. Ares slowly leaned down and kissed Joxer gently on the lips and then returned to the table. Watching the dace floor, they saw Hades and Persephone still dancing and lost in each other's eyes. It was so apparent that those two belonged together.
"Can I have this dance for the rest of my life
Will you be my partner every night
When we're together it feels so right
Can I have this dance for the rest of my life?"
Ares watched as Persephone was suddenly accosted by one of the boys on the football team. He winced in sympathy for the boy when he saw the expression on Hades' face. The fur was about to fly.

Title: Olympians Reborn School Daze series 2: My Boyfriend's Back (Hades and Persephone)
Author: Kate
Rating: Pg-13
Pairing: Same as at the end of Olympians Reborn The End of Lies and Fall Dance
Summary: The Diamonds meet Hades
Archive: AJCS, Triple Threat, Bottom of the Bottle
"My boyfriend Hades, he went away," Persephone found herself thinking when David accosted her and Hades as they were going to get some air before heading home. When she introduced Hades as her boyfriend, David smirked and told him the same rumors that he had been telling everyone about her. She saw the look on Hades' face when David called her a tramp and tried to tell Hades that she had been sleeping with him.
"He went away and you hung around
And bothered me every night
And when I wouldn't go out with you
You said some things that weren't very nice"
Persephone knew he had been telling stories about her but seeing her Hades' reaction to them was something else. David had asked her out on numerous dates but Persephone found him oily and nasty and had declined every time. Then, the rumors had started. Now, she knew Hades knew about them and she just couldn't wait for what he would do. Or to introduce him to David and the rest of the Diamonds.
"My boyfriend's back and your gonna be in trouble
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
You see him comin' better cut out on the double
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
You been spreading lies that I was untrue
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
So look out now cause he's comin' after you"
David marchland grinned up at the boy who was acting as Persephone's date. He knew the kid had to be new because everyone knew, courtesy of him, that Persephone was sleeping with him.
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
(Hey, he knows what you been tryin')
(And he knows that you been lyin')
David went up to the guy with the blond streak dyed into his dark, reddish brown hair, and told him what everyone at school knew as fact because a Diamond told them and Diamonds were always to be believed. That was the last thing he said that night as Hades, Persephone's boy friend belted him across the jaw. Hades was something David had never expected to meet. Persephone's real boyfriend who she said had to go away was apparently back now.
"He's been gone for such a long time
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Now he's back and things'll be fine
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
You're gonna be sorry you were ever born
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Cause he's kinda big and he's awful strong
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
David stared up at Hades form where he'd landed in the bushes. Something about this guy really scared him. Something about his eyes. Not to mention Hades, like several other members of the freak squad, was bigger than him.
(Hey, he knows I wasn't cheatin')
(Now, you're gonna get a beatin')
David's brother Rick watched Hades knock him across the path with just one hit and couldn't believe it. Although Hades was bigger than David, David was a Diamond and on the wrestling and football teams. No one denied them anything. Well, except the freak squad. And maybe that's where Persephone's boyfriend was going to go. But the least he could have done was given the in crowd a chance. And that little bitch Persephone was there next to Hades as the bigger boy stood over David and said something rather cold.
(What made you think he'd believe all your lies?)
(Wah-ooo, wah-ooo)
(You're a big man now but he'll cut you down to size)
(Wah-ooo, wit and see)
After he knocked David into the bushes, Hades turned to the rest of the Rumor mill friends, also known as the Diamonds and spoke clearly
"No one had ever dare to slander my Sephie's reputation again"
"My boyfriend's back he's gonna save my reputation
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
If I were you I'd take a permanent vacation
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Hades stared down all of the Diamonds as they started to protest David's innocence. With young Truth near, David could no more lie about his falsehoods than Zeus himself could have done.
"Yeah, my boyfriend's back
(La-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Look out now, yeah, my boyfriend's back
(La-day-la my boyfriend's back)
I could see him comin'
(La-day-la my boyfriend's back)
So you better get a runnin'
(La-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Alright now
(La-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Persephone watched the Diamonds clear a path when Hades turned his angry glare on them. David got himself out of the bushes and ran form Hades before he got another hit.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(La-day-la my boyfriend's back)
My boyfriend's back now
(La-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Know he's comin' after you
(La-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Cause he knows I been true now"
Persephone and Hades vanished after scaring the last of the Diamonds away and knowing that either the rumors would stop or Hades would hit David again. Persephone looked up at Hades as the walked to their temple on Olympus thinking happily:
"My Boyfriend's Back."

Title: The Great Fairy Chase
Author: Kate
Rating: PG-ish
Pairing: Same as last one
Summary: Some Fairies get lost on the way to the God of the Vine, Fairy and Forest creatures leaving Dionysus and the rest of the family to find them.
Dionysus sat in religion class listening to the reverend go on and on about how the Ancient Peoples made up the existence of fairies. He was trying so very hard not to laugh out loud at the idiot. Dionysus took a sip of his wine, which was in a red Gatorade bottle.
Dionysus looked up suddenly realizing he'd been sensing something all morning that was directly related to his sphere f godly power. He stifled a yawn at the reverend's latest asinine remark when he saw it. The glimmering of Fairy wings as one of the wee folk flew in the window. It buzzed the reverend when it sensed Dionysus' irritation with him causing Dio to nearly spit the wine across the room. Finally, it came to rest on his desk and he bent his head to hear what it wanted.
"Lord, some of our kin are missing. We were coming to see you when we realized some of the youngsters were no longer with us." She said to him. Dionysus groaned and just stood up and left. The rest of the Olympians followed him and Ares called "Family Emergency" over his shoulder.
Outside in the hallway, Dionysus looked at the group and sighed.
"Some fairies got lost on the way to see me. They're in town somewhere. Would you guys mind helping me look?"
"Of course not Dio," Artemis said gently as she tied her Wine God's hair back out of his face. The group slit in to nine teams. Each heading for a different part of town: Joxer and Ares headed for the south side Park, Iolaus and Will went to the north park, Emily and Apollo headed to the hospital, Discord and Asclepius headed for the warehouse district, Hades and Persephone headed to the west side of town, Cupid and Strife headed for the day care center, Heph and Dite headed for Dio's house, Athena and Hermes headed for the libraries and grocery store and Dionysus and Artemis began to follow Dio's radar for Fair creatures. He needed the others to look in other places because he couldn't go everywhere himself yet.
Dionysus and Artemis were passing the town hall when Dio's Fairy alarm went off. He turned and went in. Silently groaning, he opened the door to the main conference room where the town council was in full session.
"Can we help you young man?" the elder Mr. Marchland asked.
Dionysus looked at the room for a few minutes before finally asking:
"Are there any fairies in here?"
At the outbursts of indignation form the group, Dionysus replayed what he had just asked in his head and laughed. "Talk about repressed," he thought to himself as he grabbed the little fairy on the wall and left the room of still grumbling men. He came out to find Arte rolling on the floor laughing.
"I cannot believe you asked that." she got out between giggles. "Dio, that was" -Giggle- "was" -guffaw- "unbelievable."
Dionysus blushed and sent the fairy to the others before heading out to look for the next one.
As they walked down the street, Dionysus suddenly exploded into laughter as he received a message form Strife saying he and Cupid and Ares and Joxer had found a Fairy who then proceeded to ask why they were looking for it. When Strife said because it was lost, the fairy replied, "No I'm not, I'm right here."
After calming down form that fit of laughter, Dionysus looked towards the church where he was getting a really strong 'ding' on his fairy radar. He and Artemis sighed and crept quietly into the church hoping not to be seen. Dionysus walked around to the room behind the altar area and looked out. Under a wooden table were four fairies. He swallowed when he saw one fall into the wine cup at the same time as the priest reached for it. Dionysus suddenly jumped as Artemis knocked an empty, brass candleholder to the marble floor right behind him. His startlement caused him to shoot out of the sacristy, knock the priest and the wine cup over and hit the wooden table. He tasted some of the wine and made a face.
"This was a really bad year for wine," he said again without thinking. Looking up at the angry scowl, he swallowed hard. "Uhm, hi?" He snapped his fingers and made a new goblet of wine appear.
"Uh, Sorry about the mess, try this one, it tastes better."
Grabbing his fairies, Dionysus bolted form the church with Artemis right behind him. The two of them re joined the others at his house where the rest of the misplaced Fairies had eventually wound up.
Seeing the lost fairies, Dionysus looked them up and down. "How did you get lost?"
The answer had everyone in stitches as the youngest fairy looked at him and calmly said: "But, my lord, we were not lost. We just temporarily misplaced ourselves.

Title: Olympians Reborn School Daze Series: A Great Day- Ares
Author: Kate
Rating: PG
Summary: Ares deals with an annoyance
Pairing: Same as the last stories
"I got rice cooking n the microwave
Got a three-day beard I don't plan to shave
And it's a goofy thing but I just gotta say
Hey, I'm doin' alright."
Ares smiled as he entered the school the week after Dionysus' Fairy Chase around town. He was feeling pretty good about himself and life in general. In particular, he was glad to be awake to himself and with his Joxer, his Peace, again. Hercules accosted him in the hallway as the 'Hero' changed Eve's schedule around so she had three religion classes. Hercules sneered at Ares and Ares smiled benignly back. When Hercules commented on his beard growth, Ares grinned saying he had no intention of shaving. When Hercules made to block him, Ares slipped around to the side.
"At least," Ares said to Herc as he walked around him, "I am happy with myself."
"Yeah, I think I'll make me some homemade soup
Feelin' pretty good and that's the truth
It's neither drink nor drug induced
No, I'm just doin' alright"
Ares had looked into the mirror that morning and lover what he'd seen. He was having a blast in life this time around. His family cared about each other now, they were a happy family finally, and the world was ready for their return. Ares was content. And for the first time in millennia that he knew himself, it hadn't taken wine to get this happy.
"And it's a great day to be alive
I know the sun's still shinin' when I close my eyes
There's some hard times in the neighborhood
But why can't every day be just this good?"
Ares sat under The Tree during his first hour off. He and the others of Olympus had elected not to take any religion classes any longer and it couldn't really be forced on them. Ares knew there would be some tough times in the future as they all re-acclimated to their godheads. He, himself, would have some of the toughest deciding who lived and who died in over populated areas. He knew it was un-avoidable that children died and in some cases, entire areas had to be wiped out in order to remove diseases and sickness from the land and peoples. Ares sighed wondering why every day couldn't be good as this day was. Maybe some day…
It's been fifteen years since I left home
Said good luck to every seed I'd sown
Give it my best and then I left it alone
Oh, I hope they're doin' alright"
Ares sighed watching Eve. For all intents and purposes she was his at least his cousin. She reminded him of other children he'd had before the rebirth. He'd done his best by them but then had left them to themselves. Fifteen years later and he hoped they were all okay. Even though to them it might as well have been millennia since he'd even been aware of anything.
"Now I look in the mirror and what do I see?
A lone wolf starin' back at me
Long in the tooth but harmless as can be
Lord, I guess he's doin' alright"
Ares looked at his face in a mirror in the class about finding yourself. He always saw the man he'd been before now looking back. But that man no longer existed outside of the mythology books which were almost all wrong. Yes, he had occasional tasted blood. But he was on battlefields swinging a sword. Splatter was a fact of life. And most people had an automatic reaction that when something got on their lips, they tasted it.
"Sometimes it's lonely
Sometimes it's only me
And the shadows that fill this room
Sometimes I'm fallin'
Desperately Callin'
Howlin' at the moon
Ahwoo!
Ahwoo!"
Sometimes Ares let his mind drift to the past and he would get sad and feel lonely. His life had been so lonely before. He felt as if it was only him in his great big temple. When that happened, his soul would call for Joxer before he fell too deep into the spiral of Depression and sadness.
"Well, I might go get me a new tattoo
Take my old Harley for a three-day cruise
Might even grow me a Fu Man Chu
Oh, Aww
And it's a great day to be alive
I know the sun's still shinin' when I close my eyes
There's some hard times in the neighborhood
But why can't every day be just this good?"
Ares sat on his Harley after school thinking. He had a three-day weekend coming up, they all did. Maybe they should all go on a trip for a while. Somewhere quiet and away from the everyday, hum drum of their lives. Ares chuckled and shook his head no. It was too much fun here and he was having too Great of a day to leave even for a little while.
Ares grinned as Hercules came near him again and laughingly responded to Hercules question of 'Why are you so Happy?' with:
"Because little brother, look around and let me tell you, it's a Great day to be alive"

Title: Olympians Reborn How DO I live- Joxer
Author: Kate
Pairing: same as always
Summary: Joxer reflects
"How do I get through the night without you
If I had to live without you
What kinda life would that be?
Oh, I need you in my arms, need you to hold
You are my world, my heart, my soul"
Joxer sat watching Ares sleep after a serious bout of love making in their temple on Olympus. He was thinking too hard again. Something Ares accused him of doing too much of. However, tonight Joxer was thinking of Ares. And what would have happened if he hadn't found Ares before Hercules did. Joxer watched Ares sleep: his all, his world and soul and heart. Ares was all of those things and more. Joxer wondered what kind of life he would have had without this being.
"If you ever leave
Baby you would take away
Everything good in my life
And tell me now:
How do I live without you?
I want to know
How do I breathe without you?
If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive?
How do I, how do I, oh, how do I live?"
Joxer smiled at Ares as he remembered all the years as they had waited for the reborn children to come of age. Joxer sometimes wondered how he'd managed to survive those years. Without Ares, he felt like there was nothing good in his life. It was like he'd forgotten how to live and breathe without Ares there to be his breathe and life. Joxer had so missed him.
"Without you
There would be no sun in my sky
There would be no love in my life
There'd be no world left me
And I, baby, I don't know what I'd do
I'd be lost if I lost you
If you ever leave
Baby you would take away
Everything real in my life"
Joxer watched as Ares started to wake up. He knew he'd be miserable now if he didn't have Ares with him. He'd be lost without his beloved. Without Ares in his life, there was nothing. No sun, no love, hell, no life. He was an empty shell called Joxer. More like Joxer the Fool than Joxer the God of Peace. He wasn't real without Ares in his mind. For how could Peace exist without something to measure it against? If War was no longer real, then Peace was just a word with no meaning and so was even less real than War.
"And tell me
How do I live without you?
I want to know
How do I breathe without you?
If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive?
How do I, how do I, oh, how do I live?
Please tell me baby how do I go on
If you ever leave
Baby you would take away everything
Need you with me
Baby don't you know that you are
Everything good in my life?"
Joxer dearly wanted to know how he was supposed to have lived with Ares if they had failed to reach him and the others in time. How would he even exist without his other half? You couldn't live with half a soul. Joxer watched his drowsy love and smiled wondering briefly if Ares knew just what he was to him. Did Ares know he was everything good in Joxer? Much as Ares said Joxer was to him? Probably not because Joxer had never had the chance to tell him.
"And tell me now
How do I live without you?
I want to know
How do I breathe without you?
If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive?
How do I, how do I, oh, how do I live?"
Joxer was glad he'd never have to find out now how he'd live without Ares. Thankfully, they'd reached the children of Olympus in time. No one could separate them ever again now that they had Truth in the Pantheon, no one could ever hurt them again.
"How do I live without you?
How do I live without you, baby?
How do I live without you?"
"Jox? Ares asked quietly. "What's the matter?"
"Nothing Res," Joxer answered. "I was just thinking about how I'd have lived if we hadn't gotten to you in time. Wondering how I would live if you weren't here."
Ares' lips on his cut off Joxer. Ares leaned over him and gently stroked his forehead before kissing it.
"You never have to be worried about that Jox, you found us in time. Now, stop worrying about what could have been and look at hat is. You never have to wonder that again."
Cupid watched his classmates go about their daily lives and sighed. Damn but he was having a hard time choosing his match. And had to do it soon. He needed to reassert his Love God status. Strife appeared next to him quietly and watched. He looked at Cupid and grinned evilly.
"I got an idea for a match for ya wings. A real tough one." Strife said with a smirk. Cupid looked at him with interest knowing that it would be a fun match and cause some mayhem just by the fact that it was Strife's idea.
Cupid followed Strife over to where the Diamonds were sitting holding (A much smaller) court. Ever since they'd awakened, the Olympians had destroyed the Diamonds power in school. Strife pointed out Simone who sat with a very bad attempt at royalty. Cupid smirked as he looked at the ringleaders of the Diamonds. Rick Marchland was trying to sit in a pose his father had perfected several thousand years ago. He did not have the same something Ares had though so it came off looking like a bad sprawl.
Next Strife pointed at one of the outcast boys who had never found a group of outcasts to fit in. Cupid sniggered as he finally got what Strife wanted him to do. He pulled one of his true love arrows and aimed it at Simone. It would make her the one who would change instead of Grif. Cupid shot her with the arrow and hit Simone dead in the heart. She jumped and turned so she was looking right at Grif and suddenly her entire demeanor changed. She got a love sick look in her eyes and smiled dreamily. Cupid then shot Grif in the heart with another true love arrow. Strife was getting a major power rush from this bit of Mischief Cupid knew but he it was a good match one Cupid saw how these two really felt about each other. Stupid class divisions, Cupid thought.
For the next week, Grif and Simone were inseparable as they got closer and closer to Cupid's shock. He had thought that when the arrow wore off, Simone would raise unholy hell about her having kissed Grif Davis. Shock of shocks, she actually seemed happy for the first time since Cupid had known her. Who knew?
Hearing Strife laugh told him exactly who knew. Strife must have known. Either that or he was getting a kick out of watching Simone trip over herself to try to impress Grif. He thought it was funny too. A Diamond trying to impress an outcast? Now that was a story with an amusing twist. Cupid knew, he just knew, Strife was getting a major buzz from the trouble they had caused here with this match. Not that it bothered him in the least since he was the one who got the benefits of those buzzes. And very-Pleasurable--- the affects of those benefits were.
Cupid smirked watching the Diamonds try to convince Simone that Grif wasn't right for her. He wasn't a Diamond. Cupid then began to laugh uproariously as Simone said
"Yes he is; he's just rough and not polished yet."
Cupid looked up hearing Strife approach him. The two, Love and Mischief, looked at each other pleased with themselves.
"Shall we head home Strife?" Cupid asked. Strife grinned and nodded.
"Ya, Ah got a feathah bed with ya name on it wings," he said just as they flashed out.
Strife ran over to The Tree where he found Will and Iolaus. He had a great idea for some pranks but he would need Truth's help to pull them off. And he remembered Iolaus had always loved a good prank.
"Hey guys," Strife said as he plopped down net to them. He grinned at the closeness between the two of them. He'd always known Iolaus would be mated to truth and he was happy Truth turned out to be Will, Res and Ris' younger brother. He knew Will needed someone to accept him for who he was too. Strife loved it.
"What do you need Strife?" Iolaus asked. Strife giggled.
"Got an idea for a killer prank but I need Will's help to pull it off. Should be good for a laugh, thought ya might like ta watch."
Iolaus looked at Will knowing the go had to come from him. Will looked at Strife
"Who are we pranking Strife?" He asked with a slight grin.
"Couple a the Diamonds. Got wind of some things thought maybe you could help me bring em out into tha light a day."
Will looked at Iolaus to make sure this was legal. Iolaus grinned.
"Good practice for your powers Will," Iolaus told him with a grin. "Trust me it is okay to do this. Besides I think its cosmic justice, the people you're pranking need a good taking down and what better thing to use than the unvarnished truth?"
Will looked at Iolaus and grinned almost as evilly as Strife. Thus proving that he was not necessarily always such a good boy. The three pranksters met up with Cupid, Ares and Joxer in the main hallway of the school.
"We're set," Cupid said with a maniacal grin. "Ms. Donovan has David, Rick and Felix in her classroom. She's asking them questions about things. Ready Will?"
Will nodded and followed the five other, more experienced Gods down the hall to Ms. Donovan's classroom. After seeing the group chosen for this prank, Will smirked. This was going to be more fun than he'd originally thought.
He carefully drew on his Godhood and summoned the Sword of Truth. He focused the energy of truth at the boys in the classroom and waited. This was all he had to do, be in proximity of his targets while accessing his Godhood. In the classroom, a drastic change came over the boys.
Shelly Donovan had wanted to talk to these three about the tests they had turned in. It was impossible for all of them to have come up with these answers. These three boys did not even pay attention in class and Shelly had no care that they were part of the 'In' Crowd.
"Did you cheat on this test Rick?" She asked the oldest boy, the one who had failed this class four times already. It was only because Coach Schmidt had bullied the other teachers that he was still playing. Shelly Donovan, however, was not like the other teachers, she did not believe in giving into bullying. She expected Rick to lie but was shocked when she was answered.
"Yes Ma'me, I did. Someone gave me the answers," Rick told her.
Covering her shock, Ms. Donovan looked at Rick. "Who gave you the answers?" she asked.
"Coach Schmidt ms. Donovan. He said we had to score abnormally high on the test to stay eligible to play because you wouldn't let him bully you," Came from David.
Felix looked up at her suddenly. "Did you know you have one sexy ass Ms. Donovan?" he asked. In the hallway, Strife and Cupid had their fists stuffed in their mouths to block the laughter. Will buried his face in Iolaus' shoulder to stifle his laughter while Joxer and Ares kissed to contain it. Iolaus himself was laughing into Will's back. Everyone knew Strife was getting a major rush from this little Prank. And Iolaus grinned knowing Justice was called for now. He carefully nudged Will to direct the Truth of the Matter in regards to the cheating and soon all the details of Coach Schmidt's plans to keep his boys playing came out. Iolaus was disgusted by some of the things the coach had done.
Knowing three of his boys were rapists, he'd had the parents of the victims blackballed in town and the victims eventually moved away. Thereby ensuring the protection of his boys' faults and lies and secrets. Iolaus looked at Ares, the Hammer of the Gods, he who headed the House of Mortals, the House of Aggression and the House of War. Ares would be the one to deliver punishments for these crimes, Iolaus would be the one who judged them and decided those punishments. Will would be the one who, just like he was now, bring the truth out. Strife and Cupid, through their pranks and with Hermes help would find out the wrongs that needed to be judged. Iolaus smiled. Things were about to get interesting.
The six of them looked up feeling a call from Hades and Zeus to come to a council meeting. Disappearing just as Ms. Donovan saw them; they reappeared in the Great Hall of Olympus. Iolaus winced knowing they'd have to explain to her when they returned to earth.
Arriving in the Great hall for the Council meeting they'd been summoned too, the six Olympians sat down. Zeus closed his eyes after they were seated where they were directed too and Aphrodite and Hephaestus suddenly appeared. Will sat quietly as this was his first council meeting. Zeus looked momentarily sad as he looked at the newest, youngest addition to The Council of Olympus. The Last of the Four Swordsmen, he had no past experiences to draw on in the use of his powers. And everyone had gotten a laugh out of the first practice so Zeus saw no reason to reprimand Iolaus for encouraging him.
"Father?" Ares asked after Zeus was quiet for more than five minutes. Zeus looked at Ares and called again realizing he was still missing Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus, Hermes, and Athena. Once they were all present, Zeus looked over the council that now stood at 16.
We need to discuss population Culls Ares," Zeus said quietly. "I know this is soon but when Demeter and Gaia looked at the crops this year, they said there wasn't enough. Not to mention the epidemics carried in some countries. I called the entire Council here because this will require all of us, and our joint strength, until we get worshippers to help us"
"Where is the worst of the contamination from the epidemics?" Will asked quietly. Zeus answered immediately not caring about Will's inexperience in the Council. Those rules had to be changed anyhow, all they led to were arguments and nothing getting done.
"The worst of the Epidemic of Aids is in Africa and Drug users," Zeus told Will. "Hera has lost more children and has too many being born addicted and sick to handle. The world is out of balance and I'm afraid we must be the ones to restore that balance."
Will nodded. He'd known when he'd accepted the sword that there would be times like this. Times when the Truth of a matter would be an ugly thing indeed to look at. Times when the truth of a Matter would make him ill. But he had a job to do so he knew he'd better do it.
"Do you see the truth of our words William?" Hera asked.
"It's Will my lady and yes, I see it. No lie has been spoken here."
Everyone in the great hall was amazed that Will had so calmly accepted what Zeus said. For someone who had no inkling of what it was to be a God a month and a half ago, Will certainly had caught on quick.
"Hey, that's why we're here right?" Will asked the elders. "To keep the planet balanced and on an even keel?"
"Yes it is," Hades said gently. "Our shock is that you understand it so well when you have only been a god for little more than a month and a half."
"Oh," Will said with a smile. "I think I've always understood something was off with the planet. Some balance had been destroyed along time ago." he paused for a few moments lost in thought before asking, "So, how do we go about re-establishing that balance?"
Zeus sighed relieved that the boy had said 'We' and not 'You'. To do this the entire council not to mention the lesser gods and anyone who worshipped them would be needed.
"Our first order of business is to get the population down to where it is manageable," Demeter said. "That job largely belongs to Ares and Strife and Iolaus."
"Indeed," Ares said. "And I have to start making sure the right people die and wars take place how and where they are supposed to."
"And for the right reasons," Joxer added. "This fighting in the name of God, any god has got to stop. It does more damage and causes more pointless, senseless deaths and the wrong people are being killed---"
"Which I will take care of shortly," Ares said. He'd been out of the War game ever since his rebirth but he knew how to get War back in line and under control.
"The second order of Business," Hera said clearing her throat "Is to clear out the corruption in big government. That job belongs to Iolaus and you, Will," she said. Will nodded knowing that with all the lies in politics, his job was going to be hard. But if he did it the way he had done at school, he could maybe give Strife some more power while he forced the Truth to come out. Iolaus grinned catching his thoughts. That sounded like a fine idea to him. Even Poseidon cracked a smile. Will smirked knowing just the thought of his plan was mischievous enough to give Strife a boost.
"Then something needs to be done about all the orphans in the world. So many children throw away their children because they have something 'scientifically' 'Wrong' with them," Persephone said disgustedly.
"Couldn't we Foster them?" Will asked softly. He knew his parents had taken Ares and Eris in as fosterlings technically but he thought it might work in reverse too. "I mean, mortals fostered your children, couldn't we foster some of theirs?"
The idea had apparently never occurred to them because the elder council members gave him a surprised look.
"What?" he asked. "It's not as if we had to take every single Orphan in but maybe we could take in those that are 'Scientifically Wrong' as Persephone puts it. I mean Olympus sure is big enough. And when we get around to building temples, maybe we could set up foster homes within the worshippers and in the temples themselves?"
"Where did you get that idea?" Hera asked. Will muttered something that had Ares snickering.
"What is a 'Boy's Town'?" Zeus asked kindly. It was Ares who answered though as Will was red with embarrassment that he'd actually given the gods an idea.
"It's a place started by Father Flanagan in the twenties where unwanted children went. It is a place for children who were in danger of getting lost in the system, to crime or just in bad situations at home. He's right, it has merit, but it will take some careful planning."
"We should also get rid of this adoption can only happen if you're the same race shit," Joxer said. Athena nodded never having heard a more Un-wise idea in her life. They talked about equality and an end to ideals based on race in America but they still wouldn't let a 'white' couple adopt a 'black' child. Not that Athena really understood the idea of separation on color. To her, as to the others, people were people. It shouldn't have mattered what color the skin was.
"Well," Hades said. "I suppose I should go get Asphodel, Tartarus and the Elysian Fields ready for the first crop of arrivals. I know the deaths of children hurt Ares but at least in Elysium, they wont suffer anymore."
Ares nodded as he stood to go to the Hall of War to look at the mess that had been made of earth.
"Res," Will said softly, "come home for dinner first. Then I'll help you sort things if you want."
Ares looked at his little brother and nodded. They flashed home to earth together leaving the others to decide what would happen next. And leaving Iolaus to decide the fate of the coach back on earth.

Title: Olympians Reborn Teaching Miss Donovan
Author: Kate
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Same as always
Summary: The gods explain to Miss Donovan
Strife, Cupid, Ares, Joxer, Iolaus and Will walked into Miss Donovan's classroom an hour before first bell the morning after the meeting on Olympus. They new they owed her an explanation for what she'd seen yesterday afternoon and besides, Ares had learned manners this time around. Manners dictated that you did not flash out on a teacher without an explanation for it. Miss Donovan smiled at the six of them as they sat in the front row of her classroom.
"So," she began, "What happened yesterday. I know you all left somehow in a flash of light."
Iolaus coughed to clear his throat and looked at her. "We had a meeting to get too," he told her. "And when Zeus and Hera call, all of Olympus answers."
Olympus?" Miss Donovan asked almost disbelievingly. Strife nodded.
"Yah. When Gramma an' grampa call for a full council meeting we all go. Sure you can guess who we are. Not like there aren't a lot of clues in front of ya."
Shelly Donovan looked at the six boys in front of her. They were all good students in every class but religion. In that they argued and were generally trouble causing about what the church sometimes taught in regards to other faiths and paganism in general. Res Heart, who sat next to his younger quadruplet brother William, was one of the most aggressive in the religion classes. And just last week all 18 members of their group had simply refused to attend the classes any longer. Not that they could be forced to, it was after all a public school. She looked at the six of them and thought of the changes she had seen in the group since the beginning of term. Res had started to use his full name, Ares---Ares was---
"I see you're getting it," Res spoke suddenly sounding older than his 15 years. Miss Donovan looked at him and gasped. A minute ago, Res had looked like a normal teenager who just happened to wear a lot of leather. Now sitting before her was a man she imagined Res would look like when he was grown. Staring at him, she choked. At his side was a long sword. He wore no shirt under his leather vest and instead of the cuff earring he'd been wearing a moment ago, there was a dagger hanging form the ear. One with a far more ornate buckle had replaced his black belt and his he had a mustache and a goatee. His left hand now also bore a silver ring. He looked at her and smiled.
"Now, who am I?" He asked impatiently.
"Y-you're A-Ares Heart---" she began.
"Wrong-o," Strife chirped. "He's Ares, God of War. The Heart family raised Unc, but he's always been Ares: Big Bad God of War. An' he's pissed at how the Way screwed up the world balance. Ya got any idea how much it's gonna take ta fix the overpopulation in th' world Lady?" Strife asked. But now Strife looked different too. Looking at Res, Will, Cupid and Strife, Miss Donovan saw they all seemed to glow with power. The only one of all six of them who hadn't aged any was Will. That was apparently because he was a new player in the game. Cupid looked at her and now she saw he had wings growing from his back. Two of the new students, Iolaus and Joxer also looked older. Miss Donovan found her curiosity far outweighed her fear as she asked them "What are you two and William Gods of?"
"I'm Peace," Joxer told her.
"I'm Justice," Iolaus answered.
"Truth," Will said softly.
"Yeah," Cupid said, "Those three and dad are the four swordsmen of Olympus. Until Will here accepted the sword of Truth, it sat in Iolaus' temple waiting for its carrier."
"Dad?" Miss Donovan asked confused. Cupid grinned and leaned on Ares' shoulder.
"Yep," he said grinning maniacally, "My dad here, Ares. My mom goes to school here too. And so does Daddy Heph. Mine and Strife's boy Bliss isn't old enough and besides, he just woke up like the rest of the family who weren't of the senior gods."
"Just woke up?" She asked confused. Strife sighed and answered her.
"Yeah. We were all reborn here cause your 1 God hurt all o' us badly. Unc got the worst of it but then, he always did. Anyways, Zeus and Hera had us all reborn so we could do better the next time we were needed. Res woke up when Hercules attacked Will. He had ta wake up first cause he's the heir of Olympus and the strongest of us."
The bell rang then and Miss Donovan watched as they all appeared to be teenagers again. they left the classroom leaving her with a lot to think and wonder about.

Summary: Coach Schmidt meets The Hammer of the Gods.
Coach David Schmidt stared in shock at the person who had been Res Heart a few minutes ago. He had no idea who it was now but he had a feeling he would regret finding out. As he looked at the tall Leather Clad man against whose belt he had broken his fist, he thought back to what had led to this. It had started two months ago when the entire group known as the Outcasts had suddenly filled out---Yes, that was when it had started---
2 months ago:
"Hey, you all," Coach Schmidt said as he approached the huge oak tree in the quad. He noticed the group did not even look up at him as he approached. Not something he was used to as most kids looked for him. "Hey, I'm talking to you."
"Good for you," Res Heart said.
"Looks like you found us," Cupid said flippantly.
"What do you want?" Strife asked. "I mean, you and your kids usually avoid us like the plague."
"I want you all to play on some sports teams and fill in the gaps. I've seen you all in the weight room and on the track. I know you can play."
"Can ain't the same as will," Hermes told him. "We have no interest in playing sports on any team here. Our ideas of sports are completely different from yours."
Res and the group went back to their conversations completely ignoring him.
"I could make you play," he threatened.
"No, you can't," Will Heart said. "This is a public school an we've all taken fine arts so our non academics classes are already done."
"But thank you for playing," Ares said. "Don't let the door smack you on the ass on the way back to your locker room."
Schmidt looked at the group stunned by their audacity in casually dismissing him and refusing so easily his generous offer to let them play on his teams. One of new boys, Hades, Schmidt thought, simply looked at him. And the look in his eyes was one of venom that clearly said 'Leave. Now. Before we make you.'
"This isn't over children," he said. "You will play for me."
"No, we wont, "Iolaus said acidicly. "We have more important things to do with our time than chase balls and people around a field."
Now the group completely began to ignore them. He tried the same thing later that day with the girls of the Outcasts and met with the same refusal. What was wrong with these children? Didn't they know the way to become popular was to play on one of his teams? Schmidt went to ask the principal who told him quite honestly that no child could be forced to play on a sports team if they didn't want to. That included people the coach wanted on his team. Schmidt went back to his office fuming angrily.
Sitting quietly at his desk, he felt rage come over him. Dammit, those children would give him a perfect record of years of playing if he could just get them on his teams. But they refused his offers and requests.
Three weeks later, nothing had changed. He asked and badgered the group every day and still they refused. He harassed them and they ignored him. This went on for two months leading up to the Thanksgiving football game when he cornered them and tried to force them to come to the game. He was shocked when Res suddenly looked at him with ice in his eyes.
"I have had it with your constantly harassing us. We. Do. Not. Want. To. Play. Leave us be or face the consequences. For all your crimes," Res said. Had the coach been paying attention he would have seen the start of the change in Res. As it was, he ignored Res and so missed it.
"What crimes?" Schmidt demanded. It was William Hear who answered.
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe supplying your team with the answers to the tests? Yes, we know about that. We know all about how you hide rapists because they play for you, how you rig tests and threaten teachers who wont let your team pass for nothing. No, we don't want to play for you," he said coldly. Will's voice was never cold unless he was furious.
Schmidt took a swing at Will and suddenly felt an agonizing pain in his hand. He looked up to see someone was now between him and Will. Someone older, taller and stronger. This person gave him a look of complete disgust as he shoved him away.
Present:
Coach Schmidt felt himself being thrown away from the group. He looked around wondering where the stranger had come from when he realized Res was no longer present. Well, not as he'd been. Coach Schmidt wasn't a complete fool. Res and the big man were the same person. And he looked like he could swat the coach like a fly.
"Who are you?" He managed to ask through his far of the big man.
"I guess it's only fitting I tell you who I am. After all, you deserve to know the name of the man who will slam you through the wall. Much as you did Mr. Pollock last term. I am Ares, God of War. And you, little man, do not impress me."
Coach Schmidt fainted before he saw anything else. Including Res beginning to laugh insanely at him.

Summary: What goes on in shop class?
Archive: If you want it
Hephaestus and Aphrodite walked into the shop classroom and were met by a project they could not in good conscience do. Make a Crucifix. Hephaestus looked at Aphrodite before walking to the bench to look at the wood laid out for them. He looked at the teacher and shook his head.
"We wont make this. It isn't our religion," He told him. The teacher's face wet red with anger.
"Yes, you will," he said. Hep shook his head. "You can't make us you know. You have no right to force your beliefs on us in anyway. That includes making Icons for your faith."
The teacher looked at them wondering when they'd figured that out but sat back. "What will you make then?" he asked. "It has to be religious in nature today," he smiled smugly. The smile vanished as Hep picked up his wood and began to shape it into a sigil of Ares. He had his own temple but Ares had the most on his shoulders right now so Hep would support him even if it was just making altar decorations for him.
"It's religious," Dite told the sputtering teacher. "It may not be your religion but it is religious." She smiled and picked up her own wood making the symbol of Hep's Forge so he had energy to bless the symbol he'd just made for Ares. They both knew this was not what the teacher had in mind but they also knew he could say nothing. It was their religion and these symbols were religious. That did not, however, stop the teacher from being an annoying prick to the other non Christian/non monotheistic students in the classroom.
At Hep's example of what was religious, the three wiccan students in the classroom each made a different symbol. One was the Triple Goddess symbol, one made a pentacle and one made a symbol to Aphrodite as they began to realize exactly who was making what in class. Die and Hep smiled at them as they all worked. Dite felt a shift and knew Ares was beginning to take aggression into himself again. She had no idea he'd start so soon but she knew he would be okay this time. He wasn't trying to do it all alone.
Dite looked down at her completed symbol the same as the other students did. The teacher looked at them in anger as he realized they had all made things according to their personal religions. Dite smiled at him as she and Hep left the classroom at the end of class. Something in her smile backed him off of the wiccan students.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Later that day, the teacher caught up with Hep as he was heading for the quad. When the teacher tried to do a fire and brimstone lecture about Hep and Dite and the Wiccan children going to hell for what they'd made, Hep laughed at him.
"Difficult since in my religion there is only Hell for people like Hitler, Witch Hunters and other people who commited crimes against humanity. Guess that means your etire religion is sunk considering it's been behind some of the worst atrocities in history," Hep said as he walked towards the tree.
"I feel sorry for Ares, he's the one who has clean up your messes."
With that final word, Hep walked over to the tree where Will and Iolaus were sitting and the others would soon be. he sat down as Dite joined him with their Wiccan friends. the three students, two bys adn a girl, sat down with the olympians wondering what drew them to this group. At least until they realized exactly who this group was. The Gods and Goddesses of Olympus, in their school. Neat.
"Thinking is all dad," Ares said quietly. "Wondering about how I'm going to pull off a family holiday when I have two families."
Zeus nodded underrstanding Ares' dilema. he kneqw his dark sonn loved both families but was lost on what to do.
"Let me see what I can come up with Ares," Zerus said as he began to speak to Hera mentally. He flashed out a moment later leaving Ares to wonder what could possibly go wrong with his father and mother planning something. He knew the answer was: Everything
Thanksgiving morning dawned cool and clear and Ares still had no idea what he was going to do. He was also worried about what his parents and aunts and uncles were going to do. He sighed knowing there wasn't much he could do and got dressed. he jogged downstirs to where breakfast was being served by his mortal parents. he noticed Will and Emily were eating slowly and Eris was eating slower than normal. not having school that day could be one of the reasons for it but Ares wasn't sure. he sighed asnd sat at the table. taking some french toast, he ate. he had to look over his maps today as well as find away to celebrate with both of his families.
Ares sighed again as he heard Grandmother Heart who had tried to kill Will come in. Although if she tried it again she ws going to be in for a nasty shock. the shock being that she couldn't kill a God with Rat poison. Ares smiled evilly at her as she came in. To her, they still looked like teenagers but the Hearts, the people who were raising them, they could see what Ares and Eris truely looked like. Grandmother smiled at Will as she sat down and he smirked back. Ares chuckled thinking little brother had spent too much time with Strife.
When it came time for dinner, there was another knock on the front door just about the same time as Ares, Eris and Will sensed Godly Energy. The Hearts looked completely at ease with having Zeus, Hera, Hades, Posidon, Demeter, Hestia and Persephone join them for dinner. Ares sighed looking at his father who winked at him as if to say "I told you I would think of someting". Ares nodded his head in acknowledgement of his father's way of getting both familial obligations taken care of. The Hearts had known who they were agreeing to have and raise apprntly. Whern Grabndmother met them though, there was a nasty moment until Uncle Hades said soething very quiweetly to her. She paled then and sat down and shut up. Giving Ares something to be thankful for. He toasted his uncle silently and Hades mock bowed amused. He didn't like the bitch either apparently.

Title: Why Don't We Get Drunk...
Author: Kate
Summary: Dionysus gets fed up with the Diamonds and lets Bacchus out to play
Pairings: Same as always people
Rating: not sure
Dionysus stood watching the annual Church Christmas party and growled to himself. It was supposed to be fair and open to all kids but the only kids given any kind of praise were the perfwectly obedient and virginal Diamonds who took the Bible literally. Dionysus felt a tingle in his mind and chuckled.
"Why not?" He asked himself. "Why not indeed."
He waited until all the Olympians had their drinks and were on their side of the gym before he began, making all the Diamonds' drinks alcoholic. that was an easily accomplished task. Next, he started to make the effects of his alcoholic pepsi cocktails. Once they were all thoroughy sloshed he smirked to himself deciding now would be a good time to begin the sex part of debauchery.
"I really do, appreciate the fact you're sitting here
Your voice sunds so wonderful, but your face don't look so clear
So barmmaid, bring a pitcher, another round of brew,
honey why don't we get drunk and screw?"
Bacchus smiled as he saw his work begin to pay off. He so was going to enjoy this. Dionysus very rarely played like this so Bacchus enjoyed it when he did. Very soon there was an orgy going on the Diamonds' side of the room while the Olympians listened to annoying Christmas Carols on their side. Cupid would every so often fire a lust arrow into the thron og of Smashed Diamonds and his mother, Aphrodite would add her own twists as well. Everyone knew Strife was getting a major charge off this little stunt. they'd all felt Dionysus release the part of himself that was BAcchus for some fun. Artemis stood behind him rubbing his shoulders as he worked his powers over the Diamonds. It was such a nice Orgy too. Lots of sex and drunkeness.
"Why don't we get Drunk, and screw?
I just bought a waterbed, it's filled up for me and you
They say you are a snuff Queen,
Honey I don't think that's true,
So why don't we get drunk, and screw?"
Ares chuckled as he watched the Diamonds get more and more wild in the sex department. 'Talk about repressed.' he thought to himslef as he pulled Joxer to his side. They noticed Iolaus and Will were laughing too. Iolaus at Eve as she had sex with four boys, one right after the other. And Will at some of the Diamonds who'd hurt his sister. Hades and Persephone were rolling on the floor with laughter at David Marchland and his attempts at sex. If they didn't know better, they'd swear Dio was being deliberately cruel with that one. But then, that was probably what he was doing to Rocky for hurting Artemis. Dionysus/Bacchus turned to look at them and winked. He -was- getting revenge for them. For all of them.
"WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?" Reverend Tomlinson screamed as he walked in to the room. The Olympians smiled from where they appeared to be doing nothing but listening to music and reading while the Diamonds had a sex party not ten feet away.
"Why don't we get drunk, and screw?
I just bought a waterbed, it's filled up for me and you.
They say you are a snuff queen,
Honey I don't think that's true,
So why don't we get drunk, and screw?"
The reverend looked like he wanted to blame them but couldn't as not even he could find proof to pin it on them this time. He left to call their parents and Dionysus/Bacchus quickly removed the alcohol from the Pepsi the Diamonds were drinking. He was not sloppy after all and he knew carelessness would ruin his work
Arriving on Olympus for the meeting of the Council, Ares and Will looked around. Iolaus and Joxer were waiting for them in their seats by the doors.
Hera noticed the tired look on Ares' face and nudged Zeus. It was too soon. Ares couldn't take it all on his own right now. Zeus sighed and nodded. He looked to Strife to ask him to take some of the load off his Uncle Ares' shoulders. Strife nodded and did so. Ares immediately looked better.
"Thank you," the dark God of War said quietly. Strife shrugged. it was no skin off his nose and it helped Unc so what the hey? As all the gods flashed in, Zeus chuckled at their appearances.
It looked like they had all been playing sandlot baseball again. Cupid's wings were dirt smudged, Hades looked like he'd been working on sliding into the bases if his black jeans were any indication. At least, he assumed the jeans had been black when they started. Now, they were a grayish color from the sand and dirt on the lot.
"Well," Zeus said softly as he looked at his disheveled family, "Shall we get on with this meeting?"
Everyone nodded quietly. Zeus was still astounded. Winter sandlot baseball. He couldn't wait to see the snowball fight this year.
"Very well," he finally said shaking himself out of his amusement. "I wish to congratulate all of you on a job well done. Between all of you, we seem to be getting somewhere with the world balance. Strife seems to be getting a major boost from what some of you are doing to the targets." Zeus smiled catching the smirk from Will. The God of Truth seemed to love his job. Of course, Zeus couldn't really fault him for the way he went about things. It amused him too. To see these liars and abusers of power brought low.
Next Zeus looked at Ares who was doing very well in culling the population back down to where it was managable. He looked at Hades who seemed to be doing better at the paperwork now that Persephone was back with him. Hades had had to make a new realm for some of those who had died. Since he couldn't send all the children back through the void immediately as that would defeat their purpose, Hades had made a playground/playroom area in Asphodel for them. it made them happy and Hades liked to see children laughing and playing when he could.
Zeus looked at Demeter next who said fewer would die of hunger this year thanks to their determination to re-balance the world. Demeter loked over at her daughter and her daughter's husband and smiled. They really did go well together. Now that she was looking with true compassion she could see that. Hades was a good man. A bit cold at first but then, he'd been alone for centuries before Persephone so she really couldn't blame him.
When Zeus looked at Hera, she seemed less Haggard. between Ares and Discord and Gaia and Posiedon, the epidemic ravaged ares of the world were being slowly but surely dealt with. Ares had had to start a drug war to deal with the addicted babies. not to mention Asclepius walkeing through hospitals with Thanatos and pointing out people who were dying from A.I.D.S. and cancer. Thanatos took them right then and there. Except for the children. Those Hades gathered himself.
Ares was now also going into areas and eliminating gangs and drug dealers by setting up fights between them. he'd also taken care of nuclear weapons. He'd simply erased them. Those and chemical weapons were gone now. No one but the gods even remebered they'd ever been there. Also gone were many long range weapons of mass destruction. Ares wanted people to remember that war was not pretty. So he'd made them have to look at the people they were killing again. He'd given victims a face again. Faces of people who were just the same as the people who had pulled the trigger. If they wanted to kill and maim so be it. But they were going to have to get up close and pesonal to do it now.
Although Zeus still shuddered at what he'd done to racists of all colors and such. The White Supremicist meeting had been fireballed and the Black Panther meeting had been completely destroyed. Ares was going to get the point across if he had to total every group in the world who thought that way.
Gaia and Hestia ahd been causing earthquakes and firesthroughout the disease ravaged areas of the world, Posiedon had used a typhoon to wipe out the island nations who thought they were the best in technology. Yes, he'd killed alot of people but several were still alive. Eough to repopulate the island nation but also the warning was now clear. "All the technology in the universe didn't save you from a force of nature."
Iolaus had turned down all the appeals of the truely guilty on death rows around the world. The wrongfully convicted and those who were innocent were released. The guilty were meeting with sudden demise if what they had done was heinous enough. Hades had an area in Tartarus for each crime.
"Secondly," Zeus said as he looked at the room of people. He'd finished with buisness, now it was fun time. "Secondly, would you all please teach the five of us who never get off this mouintain how to play baseball?"
Everyone laughed and nodded. Strife called up their base ball stuff and they began to job of teaching the elder gods how to play. Hades had been playing since going to be with Persephone so he helped teach them. Strife grinned saying Hades was the best slider the team had. Zeus chuckled hearing that. Hades shrugged saying Cerbeus was the best outfielder.

Summary: New boy in school meets the Olympians
Jon Quick looked around the school he was in for the next 6 months. It looked boring as anything and it lacked military discipline. Well, he thought he might try to change that. Starting with the boy under the oak tree who was wearing of all things, leather pants. You didn't do that in Jon's ordered world.
Walking to his English Class trying to think of how he'd make this school fit his ideals, he noticed the boy in leather heading for the same place. He met up with a group and stopped to talk to them. That would never be allowed in Jon's military academy. You didn't do anything but go to class in ordered lines. Here the students milled about aimlessly and meandered into their classes at their leisure.
Jon stared as the group the boy in leather had stopped to speak to all entered the classroom and sat together. Didn't the teacher know that they would only talk all through class? Friends weren't allowed to sit together in his old school. Jon watched as this group made themselves ready for class. One young man set a tape recorder on his desk and Jon could just see music coming from it. At least until he saw the dog in the harness on the floor next to him. He must have had a slight vision problem, Jon thought.
The teacher came in and class got started and Jon found to his surprise that the group were quiet and well behaved all through class. They took notes, answered questions, and even the guy with the vision problem was able to answer several. Although Jon thought he must have misheard his name. 'Hades'? how did he get a name like that?
After the class ended, Jon noticed the group moved as one to the door and walked into the hall. They seemed able to think as one person and they moved better than most of his father's drill units. Jon was curious as to why.
"Can I talk to you all?" He asked later that day as he walked to what he had learned was "Their Tree." The group looked up at him curiously and so Jon took that as a cue to get on with what he wanted to ask. He'd been thinking about this ever since he'd seen this group.
"I wanted to get a marching drill squad together Dan I watching you guys earlier and you seemed..."
"No," the leather wearing young man said. Looking into his eyes, Jon saw this was no boy. "I don't think we'll be joining any clubs in this school. We have our reasons."
Jon was not used to casual dismissals. In his old school, because of his father's rank, he could have his choice of people for his teams and they knew they'd better join. This group seemed used to saying no to people who asked them to join clubs.
"Why not?" he asked almost petulantly. Another boy, this one the one with the service dog answered.
"Because, we have too much to do in our lives with being foot soldiers in a stupid drill squad," he said
"Hades," the leather wearing boy said. "It's all right, no need to jump down his throat. He's new. Saw him in the office this morning. We don't join clubs simply because we have no interest in them. We have lives off this campus."
Jon looked the group over and they looked like average kids to him. He seemed to think maybe they just had no loyalty to any group on campus.
"You guys have no loyalty to your school do you?" Jon asked as the idea became abhorrent to him.
"This is not a military school, no we don't do clubs here," a boy with blond hair said. "Ares," he said to the leather clad young man, "we have to get home soon. You know how granny and the big Z are about us being late for those meetings."
Ares nodded and the group of 18 stood. Jon noticed they had all been in his classes that day. Why did they have to go to meetings? They didn't look old enough.
"come on Dis," a pretty, dark haired girl said to the man with the service dog. "We're going now."
"Is that your last name?" Jon asked him. Hades chuckled.
"No, it's one of many names I go by. All right Seph. We're going. Come Cerberus."
Jon stared at the dog's name as the group walked off the campus going who knew where. Only to Their Meeting.
Olympians Reborn School Daze:
Arrogance
Jon watched as the group walked through school. An interesting group to be sure but they were so insular. They did not let many people near them. The only students he'd seen allowed to sit under the tree besides this group were the Wiccan students. Jon had seen Res actually scare some boys from the Christian group away from them. Of course Jon had no idea how he'd scared them, as Res had not touched any of them. Nor had he even looked threatening. According to everything Jon had heard, Res simply knew more about their bible than they did it and scared them.
The coach of the football team also seemed to be leery of annoying this group. The man was a fanatic so Jon couldn't really fault whatever had happened there. He knew it had to do with Res because when the coach had tried to force him to join the team he'd suddenly gone white. When Jon looked over his shoulder, he'd seen Res standing leaning against a door. Jon had not been approached again after his initial "No" so he knew he had the dark-haired youth to thank for it. He was watching the group now as they ate lunch out under the tree and they intrigued him. However he was smart enough not to push after they said no the second time. He was impressed mainly by Res and Dis as they girl Sephie called the visually impaired boy. He'd seen him move extremely well and had been told Hades' other senses made up for his poor vision. Jon had also been told it was due to living in a dark place for years. Jon sincerely wished whoever left a kid in a place that dark a painful death. From what Jon could see, Dis was a perfectly nice boy. He hadn't said anything cold to Jon since the refusal to join the drill squad he wanted to build. He'd been almost nice actually since Jon hadn't asked again. Jon, while being purely monotheistic himself, also respected that the Olympians as he'd heard them called around the school, were not. Like the Wiccan kids, the Olympians seemed to be Polytheistic. Witness the name of Hades' dog. Cerberus. The dog was pretty nice too. Well, to people he seemed to like or tolerate.
Jon sighed as he looked at another new boy. Jon had been here two months and he knew there were things that just were not done. What Mike was doing was one of them. You did not show off and make someone feel bad about how bad they were at things. It was a way to get a guaranteed smack down. A smack down Jon could see building in Apollo's eyes. Jon knew damn well Apollo could sing. And play any instrument he picked up. But he did not flaunt it like Mike did his guitar. And his voice that was so not all that. The sheer Arrogance of mike was a thing that needed to be dealt with and Jon knew Ares and them were just the ones to do so.

Over under the tree, Ares looked up as Mike came sauntering over. He looked to be swaggering and Ares wondered why this time. He saw Mike heading for Eris and Persephone and he winced. It depended on who got to him first. If it was Hades he was dead. If it were Asclepius, he'd wish he were.
"Come 'ere and sit with me darlings," he said. "I'll sing to ya real nice."
"Bit me Tex," Eris said. Persephone shook her head and held on to her husband. Ares and Joxer looked at each other trying not to laugh.
"What ya see in a the blind guy anyway?" Mike asked. Ares winced knowing Persephone was about to blow. Yep, here it came.
"You arrogant sonuvabitch!" she screamed. "My Hades sees perfectly well. He just doesn't use his eyes all the time. So you just piss off home with your attitude. Arrogant bastard!"
Mike backed off and Ares chuckled as Persephone leaned against Hades and muttered about arrogant, insufferable jackass sons of bitches and he looked at Joxer. They both started giggling. Okay, they'd been a bad influence. But in this case, it was justified. Mike's arrogance needed a smack down and they were just the ones to do it. Tomorrow, Ares knew, Apollo would take him down vocally. That would be a fun show to watch. Tomorrow.

Title: Olympians Reborn: Cruelty's Price
Author: Kate R.
Summary: What could be worse than War for War's sake?
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Same as always
"I'm a little boy with glasses,
The one they call the geek.
I'm a little girl, who never smiles,
'Cause I got braces on my teeth.
And I know how it feels,
To cry myself to sleep."
He surveyed the carnage in appearance Res Heart but not in mind. In mind it was Ares, God of War, Lord of Aggression and Head of the House of mortals. He was looking at what had happened at his school and the shock and pain he felt was magnified by his proximity to the mortals who had witnessed this. Ares walked over to a small courtyard where the group who had perpetrated this had then committed suicide. He found them all, dressed completely different then they normally did and he couldn't understand why they did this. Unless it was part of the message they were trying to send. They looked just like the kids they had killed. But they hadn't been treated the same. Ares knew for a fact they had never been treated the same by any save his family.
"I'm that kid on every playground,
Who's always chosen last.
A single, teenage mother,
Trying to overcome my past.
You don't have to be my friend,
But is it too much to ask---"
He knelt gently touching each face and seeking what ahd caused this. He had a sick feeling he knew. Knew why it had been done today when none of his family was at school, when he himself and his Uncle Hades were not here to sense this coming. He knew these children. Knew that, but for he and his family, they had never had anyone be kind to them. They were the Outcasts and they had always known it. They had seemed resigned to it and that had always struck him as wrong. So very wrong.
"Don't laugh at me.
Don't call me names.
Don't get your pleasure from my pain.
In God's eyes we're all the same.
Someday we'll all have perfect wings.
Don't laugh at me."
Ares gently closed each dead body's eyes. Giving individual attention never given in life to these kids. They were people, dammit! How they dressed or what they listened to or watched or read should categorize no one. Ares knew their group had been called the Freaks before the change. Now, since he used his real name and he was the leader, they were called the Olympians. It was a true statement but these kids, lying on the ground in their own blood before him; they hadn't had any apparent way to change how they were perceived. That was in part his fault and the fault of his family. They should have used the power after taking it from the Diamonds and they had not. Too busy focusing on the big picture to see a detail like this. It would change. He vowed it would change. He just had to figure out how to do it.
"I'm the cripple on the corner,
You've passed me on the street.
And I wouldn't be out here begging,
If I had enough to eat.
And don't think I haven't noticed,
That our eyes never meet."
Ares walked after awhile. Thinking on everything, when he saw the same cruelty happening to others, not children, just those who were different. It angered him. Dammit, what made people different was what made life interesting. If everyone were the same, there would be no flavor in life. Everyone would be like a clone of others. Like the Diamonds. 60% of which were lying in body bags in the school and on the lawn in front of it. Ares sighed as he kept walking. Looking for those things in humanity that gave his family such pride and finding it in the ridiculed and rejected. Why though?
"I lost my wife and son,
When someone crossed that yellow line.
The day we laid them in the ground,
Is the day I lost my mind.
And right now I'm down to holdin,
This little cardboard sign---so---"
Ares walked past the beggars on his way back to school. Stopping and making them meals. Accepting that they needed help. That they were different and he felt a lightening in his heart with each "God bless you." He received form them. He knew they did not care where the food they were eating came from. And they did not care that he walked and carried a huge ass sword. He walked past a women and children's shelter where he saw some of his classmates with their mothers and it hit him in the guts that they were different too and that they were often ridiculed as well. He walked over to them and asked them how they dealt with it and they asked him the same. Ares told them it was his friends and family that made the cruel words not matter. One of them, a girl with a baby of her own, smiled at him. Telling him that Love was the biggest weapon against hate. Not a Christian ideal by the fact that she could see him as he was and she did not shield her child from him. As a matter of fact, she let him hold the baby. Showing a mark of trust in War's ability to care, to love, to seek answers and solutions to pain. Ares smiled at her, kissed the Child and gave him back to his mother. Then he headed back to the school still seeking his answers on what to do about this. Not even Gods could fix this overnight. This was a problem that things would have to be changed gradually in. Overnight, do as I say or else changes would be as bad as the indifference that led to this. But---but maybe if they could start with the children. Athena was in charge of education; maybe she could have ideas for this.
"Don't laugh at me.
Don't call me names.
Don't get your pleasure from my pain.
In God's eyes we're all the same.
Someday we'll all have perfect wings.
Don't laugh at me."
Ares stood over the graves three days later. Those who had done the shooting and those who had been shot were laid to rest on the same day. And he could see more hatred building. Enough was enough. It had to stop somewhere, this fear and pain. The one family in the most pain was the one that had had one child shot by another. It had hurt them terribly. So terribly their grief reached even to his parents high up on Olympus. This grief would eat at them for eternity. He heard their self-recriminations. "If only we'd known. If only we'd told David to stop teasing his younger brother. If only this, if only that. If they had bothered to be anything other than petty, selfish and indifferent to their child's suffering this would not have happened.
"I'm fat. I'm thin, I'm short, and I'm tall,
I'm blind, I'm deaf, hey, aren't we all.
Don't laugh at me.
Don't call me names.
Don't get your pleasure from my pain.
In God's eyes, we're all the same.
Someday we'll all have perfect wings.
Don't laugh at me."
He looked out at the audience in the auditorium and he sighed. He figured out what he ahd to do. What they all had to do to make this point. No more hiding who he was and who the rest of his family was. This had to stop somewhere/. This hiding what you truly were. Ares took a deep breath and walked up to the podium with his family behind him. All of them
"Who am I?" he asked as he faced the audience appearing to be Res but knowing it was time to drop the mask. "You call me Res Heart but that's only art of who I am. I am more than that which stands here before you. I am not the boy who ides the black Harley to school everyday and wears leather whenever I can. I'm not the boy who rides a black stallion on snowy days to get supplies to my neighbors who are snowed in. And---I am not a Freak. Not entirely. I am all those things and more. All those facets of me, that makes me special. My dress style, my name, my coloring. My attitude and my looks. My bike and my horse. My grades and my music. My hair, my eyes. My smile and my scowl. These are all parts of me. My family and my friends. My brothers and sisters. You really want to know who I am? Do you?"
Some of the braver students and parents nodded.
"My name is Ares. Just Ares. I am the God of War and Lord of Aggression and head of the house of mortals. I am the guardian of Mankind. And I didn't see this coming."
Here his appearance changed to the god of War and the gasps were not so much fear as awe. Maybe there was hope after all.
"I didn't see this coming because I was too busy looking at the big picture on this planet. Even gods can fuck up royally. I made a mistake. We made a mistake. And people died for it. But we can admit out mistake. Our failure. And we can try to make amends. However, the fault wasn't wholly ours. You all---no, WE ALL had a part to play in this tragedy. Parents were too busy to see and hear. Classmates were too indifferent to notice or care about others' pain. Names like Outcast and freak and Fag and Whop and any other of a hundred derogatory words. Words can hurt. Words can make you bleed; kill you as effectively as any bullet. I'm Ares. Ares the God of War, Ares the brother of Eris, Emily and Will. I'm Ares the Lord of Aggression, the Prince of Olympus, and the Son of Zeus. But I'm also jack's boy Res. I'm the boy whose brought soup to any of your family's when the winters were bad you were snowed in. I'm not really Ares or Res or War or Aggression. Same as my family---Families as I have two thanks to generous and loving people, who would give us another chance, aren't what they appear to be on the surface. We are more than faces and clothes. Godheads and responsibilities. We have feelings. We touch you. You touch us a million times a day and don't even know it. Love, hate, War, Death, Mischief, Childbirth. We're all here. You make us real. And yet we are more than just how you see us. Do you want to know who I am? If there is anything to be learned form this tragedy it's who I really am. Who you really are. Do you want to know?"
"Yes," came from Eve. Ares raised an eyebrow but seeing only tears and pain nodded. He saw Xena as well but not Hercules or Gabrielle. They weren't ready yet then. Ares also saw the clergy of the church watching him. Waiting for him to finish what he was saying.
"I am all those things I told you and more. I'm a thousand hopes and reams much as you are. But I'm different from all of you. In the end, the only thing I am. The only thing I could ever be--- is---Me. That's all. Just Me. Just as you are You and no one else. Remember that. Remember that you are yourself and no one else. Find who you are before you let others try to tell you. I. Am. Me. Those are the simplest words you will ever have. But they are the only words you will ever need. You. Are. You. That is the greatest gift of the Gods. Or God. The Gift of yourself. Cherish it and respect in others. Look in the cemetery for what happens if you don't."
He walked down off the stage then with a quietly whispered "See you on Monday," to his teachers as he walked out the door of the auditorium with his final words echoing in the minds of all those there.
"The simplest words you have in life and the only words you ever need to defend yourself against bigotry and hatred: I. Am. Me."
As people were leaving, Apollo and Eris began to play a song they had found that fit this occasion. Hopefully it would make people think. Make one person think. That would be good if just one person really heard the words to this song, it would help.
La la la la la la la
Oh, yeah
You walk up to me and say
Feel like I know you baby
And then take a sip of your cherry Coke now
Now who drinks a cherry Coke
Maybe you're nervous
I see that bead of sweat dancing on your cheek
Your words are like cheap champagne
I get the point, but it's much too sweet
I'm so tired of the dance
This carousel of superficial conversation
Gets me nowhere
So you can see my bra underneath my shirt
Watch the wind underneath my skirt
But that ain't the picture, it's just a part
Everybody's got a story that could break your heart
See my eyes, don't see what I see
Touch my tongue, don't know what tastes good to me
It's the human condition that keeps us apart
Everybody's got a story that could break your heart
Yeah, everybody's got a story that could break your heart
Na na na na na na
Now who could read the mind of the red-headed girl next door
Or the taxi driver who just dropped you off
Or the classmate that you ignore
Don't assume everything on the surface is what you see
'Cause that classmate just lost her mother
And that taxi driver's got a PhD
I'm so tired of the fear
That weighs us down with wrong assumptions
Of broken hearts, a natural function
So you can see my bra underneath my shirt
Watch the wind underneath my skirt
But that ain't the picture, it's just a part
Everybody's got a story that could break your heart
See my eyes, don't see what I see
Touch my tongue, don't know what tastes good to me
It's the human condition that keeps us apart
And everybody's got a story that could break your heart
See my bra underneath my shirt
Watch the wind underneath my skirt
But that ain't the picture, it's just a part
Everybody's got a story that could break your heart
La la la la la la la
So dig deep
Depper than the image that you see
Dig deep
Lift the veil and let your true self breathe
Dig deep
Show the world the beauty underneath
See my bra underneath my shirt
Watch the wind underneath my skirt
But that ain't the picture, it's just a part
Everybody's got a story that could break your heart
See my eyes, don't see what I see
Touch my tongue, don't know what tastes good to me
It's the human condition that keeps us apart
And everybody's got a story that could break your heart
See my bra underneath my shirt
Watch the wind underneath my skirt
But that ain't the picture, it's just a part
Everybody's got a story that could break your heart
See my eyes, don't see what I see
Touch my tongue, don't know what tastes good to me
It's the human condition that keeps us apart
And everybody's got a story that could break your heart
La la la la la la
